Westport Shower Ministry

This film profiles Westport Presbyterian’s Shower Ministry. What started as one homeless man asking for a shower before church has become a thriving ministry to Kansas City’s unhoused community. Every Sunday, they offer 20 showers, 50 breakfasts, and 100 lunches! They are expanding to include a ‘women’s only’ outreach on Thursdays for the women who feel they need more privacy and protection. A number of local churches and community groups are now volunteering their resources and time to assist with meals and other resources. We have two pediatricians from Saint Luke’s volunteering every Sunday Morning, both tending to the medical issues the unhoused face, and…doing their laundry!
